At Croda we predominately base our chemistry on renewable raw materials, wtih around 70% of the raw materials we purchased being derived from renewable sources since we started measuring in 2008.
Our Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) department ensures that we set challenging targets in the areas of air quality and climate change, water quality and supply, landfill waste, process safety management and occupational health and safety.
We are committed to the CIA’s Responsible Care® programme, which helps us continuously improve our performance in SHE. Since the acquisition of Uniqema in 2006, which doubled our turnover, we have reduced the use of energy and water and the level of waste to landfill, whilst maintaining significant economic success.
Our dedication to managing our environmental impact is clear, with all of our 17 manufacturing sites being certified to the ISO 14001 standard and accredited to the OHSAS 18001 standard for Safety Management.
Through innovative product and manufacturing developments, and strict management processes, we are committed to continually improving our environmental performance to ensure that we are a sustainable business.
