We currently have a 12 month vacancy for a Customer Service and Shipping Administrator based at our head office, Cowick Hall. The role holder will assist with general office administration including dealing with incoming and outgoing post, maintenance of filing systems, word processing and the production of reports from our IT Systems.

Educated to GCSE level, with Grades A-C in Maths and English, you should be a confident communicator who is capable of bringing and maintaining a high level of organisation. A keen eye for detail and good IT skills are also essential for this role, as is the ability to be self-motivated. Full training will be given to the right candidate.

We are currently seeking a Process Innovation Lead Engineer to join our Process Innovation Team, a global interdisciplinary team of chemists and engineers whose main focus is to seek out, evaluate and develop new and innovative technologies and processes for manufacturing our products. The team will ensure the uptake of beneficial projects through selling the benefits to stakeholders and support sites during the implementation and scale-up of these new technologies and processes.

To be successful you should be educated to degree level in chemical engineering and be interested in developing within a technical role in the business. You should be influential at all levels of the business, and have excellent interpersonal and networking skills. Project management experience is also necessary for this role, as well as the ability to prioritise high volumes of work with competing priorities.

We currently have a vacancy for a QC Analyst, based in our Quality Control laboratory at our Hull Site. The main purpose of this role is to provide analytical support with respect to raw material, finished product and process water testing. The QC Analyst is also responsible for the despatch of samples to potential new customers, as well as carrying out testing and solving problems as required.

To be successful you should be educated to at least A level standard in chemistry or a related scientific subject, and possess good laboratory skills. Experience of working in a busy QC environment would also be advantageous but not essential. A high level of attention to detail and good planning and organisational skills are necessary, as is the ability to use your own initiative to solve problems. Salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience, and full support will be given to non-graduate applicants to pursue further studies alongside the role.

To be successful, you will be educated to HND/HNC level in a chemistry related discipline. Ideally you will also have experience in a busy QC environment as well as an understanding of good manufacturing practice (GMP).  Attention to detail and the ability to effectively plan and organise your own workload is essential. You must also be a team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.  Experience in analytical methodology would be advantageous but not essential.

The main responsibility of this role is to manage the QC department for the site, having accountability for all aspects of the site quality control function, including incoming materials, and the release of materials for sale or ongoing processing.

To be successful you should be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, and ideally have experience in a QC environment, preferably in a managerial or supervisory capacity.  Additionally, a background in analytical chemistry would be beneficial. Excellent planning and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to solve complex problems. Attention to detail is also important for this role, as is the ability to lead a team, make decisions and communicate effectively.

We currently have an opportunity for a Sales Representative based in Mortara, Italy. Reporting to the local and market sector Sales Managers, this position holds responsibility for maintaining and further developing business in Italy in line with annual targets, sales plans and pricing policies for Croda’s Industrial Chemicals business.  Croda’s Performance Technologies and Industrial Chemicals sector includes; Polymer Additives, Geo Technologies, Coatings & Polymers, Home Care, and Industrial Chemicals.

As the successful candidate, you will be educated to degree level preferably in Chemistry or in a similar scientific discipline. You should have previous experience in sales or even better providing technical advice to customers within a sales related position in similar industries. You will be required to be IT literate, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as being a team player. You will be required to frequently undertake customer visits in Italy and attend business meetings within Europe.  You should therefore be fluent in English and Italian. The role also requires you to live within a commutable distance of Mortara.

Candidates will be required to attend a one day recruitment event.

We currently have an opportunity for a Shift Process Technician (chemical plant operator) at our Leek site in Staffordshire. Working on a five crew shift pattern, the purpose of this role is to run a process plant and coordinate all operations requirements within production areas to ensure that the production schedule is kept on target. The role also involves monitoring plant equipment performance and taking corrective action when breakdown occurs, in accordance with relevant procedures.

To be successful you should be City & Guilds qualified in Process Operations, hold an NVQ level 2 in Process Operations, or be qualified to higher education. Experience of working on a chemical site would be an advantage but is not essential. You should be IT literate with high work standards, and be able to identify and analyse problems quickly. Good communication skills are essential.
