Guided by our Purpose, Smart science to improve lives™, we launched our sustainability Commitment in 2020 to become the most sustainable supplier of innovative ingredients.
Today, that Commitment is focused on becoming Climate, Nature and People Positive by 2030. By embedding the work to achieve this Commitment into our corporate strategy, sustainability will continue to drive innovation, strengthen partnerships, and create long-term value.

Croda 1% Club time used in clean up
As part of Croda’s 1% Club, which gives colleagues 1% of their working time each year to support charitable or community causes, the team helped clear overgrown vegetation along the riverbank. Their efforts contributed to protecting local biodiversity and creating a cleaner environment for residents to enjoy.
Activities like this reflect how we take action locally while continuing to develop sustainable solutions that benefit people, nature and communities around the world.
Sustainability Pioneer Silver Award Win
The recognition highlights the progress of our biodegradability programme, where teams across the business have undertaken extensive testing across our portfolio while advancing biodegradability screening methods and scientific understanding. This work supports greater transparency and helps enable the transition towards more circular solutions within the beauty industry.
This achievement reflects the dedication and collaboration of our people involved in these projects, and we thank everyone who has contributed to advancing this important work.
Sustainable Beauty Awards 2025 finalists
The shortlist recognises two initiatives supporting our sustainability commitments. Our biodegradability programme has involved extensive portfolio testing while advancing biodegradability screening methods and scientific understanding, helping to support the transition towards circularity within the beauty industry.
The nomination also highlights our sourcing approach for Phytessence™ Wassai, developed to minimise socio-environmental impacts through a fair partnership model and innovative technology.
