Croda demonstrates how delivery science creates value across its portfolio
Delivery science encompasses technologies designed to protect ingredients, optimise how they are delivered and improve how they perform in use. One example is encapsulation, which helps protect ingredients and control how they are released within a product or during use. By improving ingredient stability and performance, encapsulation can help customers develop products that deliver more consistent benefits while supporting formulation flexibility and sustainability goals.
Across the Group, these capabilities are being applied to address different customer challenges and market needs.
In Beauty, Matrixyl® Neolide™ demonstrates how advanced delivery science can enhance the performance of an established skincare ingredient. By applying encapsulation technology to a recognised peptide, Croda has improved performance, formulation flexibility and sustainability, helping deliver benefits for 15 days once applied to the skin.
In Fragrances, Iberchem has developed encapsulation technologies for alcohol-free fragrance systems. Using biodegradable polyurea microcapsules, the technology provides a stable and reliable delivery system while preserving the intended fragrance profile, enabling customers to create new fragrance experiences without compromising fragrance performance.
In Pharma, Croda is applying a combination of formulation expertise and machine learning to help pharmaceutical customers overcome the challenges of poorly soluble medicines. Through predictive modeling and data-driven optimisation, Croda is working to streamline formulation development and support the design of drug delivery systems with enhanced solubility and bioavailability.
Together, these examples demonstrate how Croda applies common scientific capabilities across multiple businesses and end markets, creating value through shared expertise, technologies and infrastructure.
Steve Foots, Chief Executive Officer, said: “Customers increasingly need solutions that help them innovate faster, improve performance and meet evolving consumer and market expectations. Delivery science is one of the ways Croda helps address those challenges.
"What makes this capability particularly valuable is its breadth. The same scientific expertise can be applied across Beauty, Fragrances and Life Sciences, helping customers solve different challenges while leveraging common technologies and know-how. Across the Group, we are demonstrating how we translate scientific capability into commercial value."
Through its delivery science and encapsulation expertise, Croda develops differentiated solutions that enhance performance, support sustainability and help customers bring innovative products to market.
