Ratings and frameworks

We have identified MSCI and Sustainalytics as key frameworks that help our investors determine the impact of their investments on society and the environment. They also help us to implement and continuously improve our measures and best practices. The ratings measure long-term resilience to financially relevant Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risks. We are AAA rated by MSCI for more than five years running and continue to be noted for our strong performance by Sustainalytics. 

In July 2025, Croda International Plc received an ESG Risk Rating of 22.85 and was assessed by Morningstar Sustainalytics to be at Medium risk of experiencing material financial impacts from ESG factors. In May 2025 Croda achieved a gold medal, confirming its place in the top 5% among all companies rated in the past year. EcoVadis continues to rank Croda as a Leader in its assessment of Carbon Management Level, recognising our decarbonisation commitments, actions and reporting as best-in-class.

Following the last review in June 2025, Croda continues to be a member of the FTSE4Good Index Series, a global sustainable investment index series, designed to identify companies that demonstrate strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices measured against international standards.

Croda disclose against Climate Change, Forest and Water Security, providing transparency to our stakeholders, including key customers who request specific informaiton through the CDP Supply Chain module. In 2025, Croda achieved a CPD ranking of:

Croda has been recognised in CDP’s Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA) 2024 A-list for its proactive efforts in engaging its supply chain on environmental matters. We will update our website with the outcome of the 2025 SEA in line with CDP’s official publication of the scores. 

CDP serves as a global platform for companies to disclose their environmental impacts, including data on deforestation, water management, and emissions. CDP's SEA specifically assesses how well a company engages its suppliers on climate change issues, including encouraging them to disclose their environmental data and setting targets. With sustainability and transparency becoming top priorities worldwide, this signifies that Croda has demonstrated strong engagement with its suppliers on environmental issues. 

The SEA A-List is CDP's highest score, recognising companies that are playing a crucial role in the transition towards the net-zero sustainable economy. Being on the A-list indicates that Croda is a leader in this area, demonstrating best practice in environmental stewardship and its ability to influence positive change within its supply chain.
