Croda International Plc, the company that uses smart science to create high performance ingredients and technologies that improve lives, is proud to become a founding member of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) Business Transformation Group, a collaborative leadership group of forward-looking international companies with a strong commitment to sustainability.

Alongside other members, that include IKEA Group, Dentsu International and Majid Al Futtaim, Croda will support the Group’s mission to help companies set a truly sustainable business path across key areas such as nature, climate, circular economy and inequality.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals show that business is at the centre of the global sustainability transition. The CISL Business Transformation Group will highlight the important part all businesses can play in helping to tackle the climate, ecological and inequality crises the world is facing today.

Aris Vrettos, Director of CISL’s Centre for Business Transformation said: “We’re delighted to welcome Croda as a founding member of the Business Transformation Group. Business action is critical to support the transition to a climate neutral, nature positive and socially inclusive economy. We look forward to working with Croda – a world leader in speciality chemicals to achieve our mission in demonstrating what a sustainable business looks like and helping companies to implement the organisational transformation necessary to deliver it.”

Phil Ruxton, Chief Sustainability Officer at Croda said: “It is a privilege to represent Croda as part of the CISL Business Transformation Group, and I am excited to be part of such a visionary initiative. We believe that we can make a positive impact by sharing the experience of our journey to become the most sustainable supplier of innovative ingredients, as well as taking the opportunity to learn from other members of the Group. No one organisation can achieve ambitious sustainability impacts alone, we are better when we work and learn together!”

In 2020, Croda announced its ambition to become the most sustainable supplier of innovative ingredients by becoming Climate, Land and People Positive by 2030. As a “Race to Zero” partner and a signatory to the UN Business Ambition for 1.5°C, the company has committed to being a net zero organisation by 2050 and achieving interim 1.5°C Science Based Targets by 2030.
