Croda Proudly Supporting RSPO European Roundtable Event
Croda, a global specialty chemical company, is proud to sponsor the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Event “100% Certified Sustainable Palm Oil: Our shared Responsibility” taking place at London’s River Bank Plaza on June 4th 2014.
In addition to sponsoring the event, Croda’s Vice President Global Accounts, Chris Sayner, will be presenting “Developing the Physical Supply Chain in H&PC” to further illustrate the company’s commitment to using raw materials from sustainable sources and highlight the steps the business is taking to support the physical supply chain of sustainable palm oil (PO) and palm kernel oil (PKO) derivatives.
By 2015, all of Croda’s manufacturing sites handling PO/PKO and derivatives will have RSPO Supply Chain Certification and the company is working towards all of their PO supply chains being certified by 2017.
This RSPO Roundtable Event aims to promote a 100% Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) market in Europe, in addition to launching discussions around the new EU food labelling regulations, due to come into force this December.
In speaking about the event, Chris Sayner said, “Sustainability for Croda means doing business the right way, which is why it is a central element of everything we do. We hope this event, and our support of it, will help to raise greater awareness of the importance in making 100% CSPO the norm in Europe and the rest of the world.”
Croda’s commitment to sustainable business operations has seen receive a number of accolades including ranked highly for two consecutive years in the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World index and being are one of only 41 companies to be listed as a CDP Climate Disclosure Leader for transparent climate change reporting.
