Supporting the Education and Leadership of Panamanian Women

From 8 February, Croda, who create, make and sell speciality chemicals that are relied on by industries and consumers everywhere, will be helping to change the lives of women and children in Panama through its support of the Panama Beauty Project.

The Panama Beauty Project, which runs from 8-13 February, will see the beauty industry come together and work with dozens of Panamanian women to provide services and education on personal care product development, hygiene and wellness, and technology.

Croda is providing innovative and unique texture formulations for hair masks, moisturising creams and a hand wash for the project, as well as sponsorship of the event itself. The project, which will see experts and volunteers discussing health, beauty and related topics with women and children in Cacique Panama, is based on the Haiti Mission, aiming to educate and empower communities while advancing and encouraging science.

Over the six days, sponsors and volunteers will provide hands-on practical demonstrations at the Center for Panamanian Women. The centre works with low-income women located in indigenous areas to improve their quality of life, and it is hoped that this project will strengthen their leadership skills, promote the formation and strengthening of grassroots women’s organisations for community management and political advocacy, and enhance skill sets to help provide women with a trade.

Sandra Breene, President Personal Care, Croda said: “At Croda, we believe in supporting the rights and developing the potential of all women and young people in all social spheres and we are proud to be supporting this Panamanian community. Sustainability is fundamental to everything we do, and in supporting this project we get to share our expertise to help them establish new means of leadership and trade.”
