Beauty of Zero reflects Croda’s commitment to enable the transition to a zero-impact beauty industry through ingredient innovation, transparent data and collaborative scientific expertise. This supports our long-term ambition for reducing environmental and social impacts across the beauty value chain while continuing to deliver high-performance ingredients demanded by global beauty brands and consumers. 

Built around six pillars – Net Zero, Zero Waste, Zero Biodiversity Loss, Zero Water Impact, Zero Exploitation and Zero Ambiguity – the programme demonstrates how Croda is embedding sustainability considerations into product development, manufacturing and customer collaboration. For example: 

  • Biotechnology-enabled ingredient innovation designed to reduce reliance on resource intensive feedstocks and support more efficient, lower-impact manufacturing processes, helping customers formulate high-performing beauty products with improved sustainability credentials 
  • Increased use of renewable and responsibly sourced raw materials, alongside transparent lifecycle data and sustainability metrics, enabling customers to make more informed formulation and sourcing decisions  
  • Advancing circularity through initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving manufacturing efficiency and supporting biodegradable ingredient design to help minimise environmental impact across the beauty value chain
