Celebrating Employees Across the Croda World

Croda International Plc, who use smart science to create, make and sell speciality chemicals that improve lives, are today celebrating their employees around the world as they help to continue business as usual during the Covid-19 outbreak.

As part of a critical industry, Croda has been working to ensure business continues as usual for the company’s thousands of customers, many of whom are part of crucial supply chains needed during the outbreak of Covid-19. Croda’s ingredients are used in thousands of end products, including items such as sanitisers and disinfectants, medicines, medical equipment, protective medical products, facemasks and items used in the making of Covid-19 testing kits.

Steve Foots, CEO, Croda, said: “Seeing our unique Croda culture and can-do attitude in action never ceases to amaze me. Our employees around the world are showing great creativity, enabling us to continue to support our customers during this difficult time. It is thanks to them that we can keep supplying ingredients into some of the most critical areas of industry in these challenging times.”

Croda is also supporting local communities around its manufacturing sites, including the gifting of safety glasses and laboratory coats to local hospitals and health services around the Gouda and Enkhuizen sites in the Netherlands. Colleagues at Sederma have also been supporting local health care professionals in France, with gifts of disposable lab coats to a local hospital and disposable gloves to local general practitioners. In addition, to bring pleasure to residents of care homes close to our seed enhancement site in Enkhuizen, Netherlands, who are currently unable to receive visitors, one thousand bunches of tulips were delivered.

Croda Denmark is partnering with academia to share leading expertise in vaccine adjuvants, as well as providing free adjuvants to research groups around the world. These efforts are supporting projects aiming to develop a safe and effective vaccine for the Covid-19 virus.

To show the company’s support to employees during the outbreak, Croda has assured them that there are currently no plans to reduce employee numbers or reduce regular salary and benefits as a result of Covid-19. Tracy Sheedy, Group HR Director at Croda said: “This is an unsettling time for everyone. Our priority is to do everything we can to support the health and wellbeing of our employees around the world. Our employees are doing a fantastic job, helping to keep our business working. We are pleased to have been able to offer reassurance over job security and pay and hope this will be a relief for them and their families.”
