In 1925, our founders, entrepreneur George Crowe and chemist, Henry Dawe, embarked on a venture with little more than an idea, a vision and a belief in the power of innovation. Their idea was to make lanolin, which is formed by refining the natural grease of sheep's wool.

It is this partnership between science and nature, of sustainability and innovation – that has always been at the heart of Croda, throughout our centenary journey. One that has led us from being a small family firm to becoming the global business we are today.
